Day Walks
Day Walk 1:
Ben Lomond
Duration: 1 day
We assemble at Rowardennan where we have a quick safety brief before setting off. We ascend via the Ptarmigan Ridge, stopping along the way to enjoy the breathtaking views and perhaps take a few photographs for the folks back home! After enjoying lunch on the summit at 974 metres we descend the mountain by a different route which, by sheer luck, ends next to a warm and welcoming Scottish pub!

Day Walk 2:
The Cobbler
Duration: 1 day
Still one of our favourite days out! We assemble at Succoth, on the shores of Loch Long by Arrochar. The initial ascent of the Cobbler is quite steep but this soon levels out onto gentler terrain before the final leg of our journey to the summit at 884 metres. On a clear day the views are unbelievable and we generally stop for refreshment on the rocky summit overlooking the glen below. We descend via Buttermilk Burn, wih superb views over the Loch.

Day Walk 3:
The Merrick
Duration: 1 day
Our start point for this walk is on the shores of Loch Trool. We pass through forest during the initial ascent before the trees open out onto open country. Our first summit on the way has fantastic views over the surrounding hills and leads us to the broad ridge leading to the Merrick’s peak at 843metres. From here on a clear day it is possible to see the Highlands, The English Lake District and even the Mourne Mountains across the sea in Ireland! A choice of descents take us either back the way we came or, a more challenging route, down past various lochs and burns before skirting back West with stunning views over Loch Trool to our finish point.
