A superb introduction to walking!

Tramping the Trossachs

Takes place in the beautiful Loch Lomond & Trossachs national park and the breathtaking Arrochar Alps. Ben Lomond, at 974 meters is Scotland's most Southerly Munro. (A Munro is a summit over 3000 feet). Towering over the Loch below, from its peak on a clear day many of the loch's 31 islands can be seen. Wildlife is in abundance in the area and deer, birds of prey and even wallabies (yes, wallabies!) are regularly seen. The Cobbler with its distinctive triple peaks stands majestically in the southernmost section of the Arrochar Alps. Whilst not the highest peak in the range, it is certainly the best loved, by walkers and climbers alike. Generations of Glaswegians cut their climbing teeth here and the "Cobbler Club", formed in 1866 was Scotland's first climbing group. From the summit you will be able to peer down at the cliffs below and wonder at the exploits of those early pioneers in their hobnailed boots!

Friday - Arrive Glasgow. A free collection service can be arranged from your point of arrival from where you will be taken to your comfortable accommodation where, after discussing the weekend's programme, you can enjoy a hearty meal and a few drams!.
